G7 to agree AI code of conduct for companies: Report

The Group of Seven (G7) industrial nations is set to establish a voluntary code of conduct for advanced artificial intelligence (AI) development to address privacy and security concerns. The 11-point code, initiated during the "Hiroshima AI process," aims to ensure the safe and responsible global deployment of AI. It urges companies to identify, assess, and mitigate AI-related risks throughout the technology's lifecycle. The code also calls for transparency through public reports on AI capabilities and limitations, emphasizing robust security measures. While the EU has taken a proactive stance with the AI Act, other G7 members have varying approaches to AI regulation.
